The issue lies with my onboard network card limiting internet speed in certain apps. It's not restricting it to a single rate. For instance, Firefox gets 130Mbit, Bethesda launcher 170Mbit and Steam downloads all at 225Mbit. My laptop can handle full speed in every application despite the network being 225Mbit down and 20Mbit up. The cable provides full speed without problems on my machine. I'm using two cables with a coupler in between. The first is CAT5e, the second CAT6. The coupler supports full speed. The length is 35 meters. Everything works fine without the coupler. I've tried different cables but nothing fixed the problem. Attempting to force the card to accept gigabit speeds didn't help either. I'm unsure what to do next and need advice.
