Hello everyone, the MSI X870 Tomahawk seems to have some past concerns from users about performance issues. I’ve checked the link you shared and want to know if it’s still a solid choice or if other boards might be better.

Uncertain about the CPU choice, but a really powerful motherboard is definitely overkill unless you need specific features or extra ports. Most of the cost goes toward those capabilities. Likely, the X870E Tomahawk is a stronger option due to its dual chipset, offering only a slight price bump. If you're going all-in, the B850 series already covers much ground. For context, the Asrock B650M HDV/M.2 seems sufficient for a 9800X3D. A helpful note: the X870E Tomahawk is generally regarded as one of the top choices, backed by reputable reviews. What concerns you? Where did you hear this? Any reference?

Hello, thanks for your response. CPU specs are 9800x3d with a 9070 XT GPU. In our country, we have limited choices. For the link, if you search online for "is msi x870 tomahawk having issues?", it might help. Appreciate your assistance!

I see. Well, I tried googling that, to me the "problems" seems to be kinda "isolated" as in not across the board. With so many different combinations of pc parts out there its kinda usual thing with pc building ? Good example of very serious and kinda widespread issue awhile back probably about some model of Asrock motherboards burning 9800X3D. Widespread enough to cause a big enough ripple that it even had tech reviewers making videos about it. I mean, I tried also gooling "is XXX having issues ?" replacing the XXX with every other motherboard in the link you gave, and there were posts about 1 or more kind of issues for each of them. Anywho..., if you have that much of a limited option nothing can really be done about it. It's a good motherboard, having a B850 Tomahawk Max myself, which shares some features. It has nice, working features. Sideways USB-C and USB3 internal header is very nice in my book. Cmos reset button works without needing to turn off PSU M.2 easy latch is nice M.2 heatsink easy latch is simple and works nicely. PCIE latch easy unlock/lock button is a godsent.

Thank you for taking the time to clarify, that means a lot. I’ll choose the MSI X870 tomahawk and I’m confident everything will work out.
