I'm checking options for a B450 motherboard. It seems unavailable everywhere, but an MSI X570 is available now at a higher price. Should I hold for the B450 or go with the X570 despite needing Plce 4.0 express? Places with the B450 in stock charge much more than the X570.

I don't have that information. Could you clarify which CPU you're referring to?

You currently possess a Ryzen 5 3600 but can retrieve it for a Ryzen 7 when necessary.

They’re not great, honestly. I’d go with any other budget AIB X570 if I had to choose.

The Tomahawk, Unify, Ace, Godlike, and Creation are the top picks you should consider...

This board offers little improvement over a decent B450 model, and some B450 units perform better. I’d consider other options like B450 or X570. For future Ryzen support, aim for a Tier C or higher, such as MSI B450 Gaming Plus, Tomahawk, or Mortar. Alternatively, the Asus X570-P could be a solid choice.
