MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max without debug LED for DRAM
msi x470 gaming plus max amd ryzen 5 3600x corsair vengeance lpx 16gb 3200 cmk16gx4m2z3200c16 corsair cx750m psu samsung 970 evo m.2 new build when powering on the system, the ez debug led for the cpu activates then deactivates, no led shows up for the dram, vga led turns on then off boot led activates then shuts off. First time on, went to bios and saw xmp with two memory profiles, both identical, exited and opened windows (installed from prior build, details later). It powers down after about a minute. Rebooted once and it didn’t reach windows. Rebooted again, bios check failed for xmp profiles, updated latest bios from msi and same outcome. The earlier build used a b450-a pro max and rosewill 700 psu, I got the same issue but managed to keep it running long enough for windows installation on the m.2 slot. After swapping the motherboard and psu to the ones listed, I still think memory might be the problem, though the installed RAM is marked as compatible on msi’s site under compatibility and memory by rx-3x00. Please help, I’m still trying to fix this and have a lot of hair to pull out. Cheers Ken
Hi Ken, thanks for your message. After trying the steps you described, the issue seems to be different. I didn’t see the LED activate during startup, and I’m unsure what’s happening now that I’ve changed things. I’m a bit worried about restarting, but I’ll let you know what I do next.
After it began functioning, you should be fine. If further issues arise, please inform us.
