Hey everyone, I just acquired the MSI TOMAHAWK MAG B550 and started it with an R5 2600X, R9 370, a single SSD (XPG950U), and 3600 GB RAM (8x2). I installed it in an open bench setup on the motherboard to update the BIOS and verify functionality before moving it to my main PC. I updated the BIOS to the latest version (E7C91AMS.AE0) and inserted the SSD to test a Windows boot. The issue was it didn<|pad|>, Windows couldn<|pad|> (to detect it). During the Windows 10 setup, when prompted to select a device, nothing appeared. I returned to the ThrottleShot menu, ran CMD and typed diskpart and list disk, but only the USB drive showing up. I revisited the BIOS and saw strange SATA readings—all empty. I tried connecting an older HDD next, thinking maybe it was in a RAID setup. Then I went to RAIDXpert2 Config Utility, selected the array, and saw the SSD listed as 240 GB, marked disabled. I attempted to enable it, but it would reset every time I left the menu. It’s been a month since I installed it, and I spent nearly $200 on it. Any tips to fix this before it causes more trouble?
This HDD is a remaining component after I replaced my laptop with an SSD. It mainly serves as a backup when I need to create a small PC and don’t have storage options. In fact, the CPU, cooler, GPU, power supply, RAM, and SSD are kept for emergencies or troubleshooting.
