I'm experiencing issues with msi afterburner when overclocking; setting the core clock above 1024 causes an immediate black screen, even though my memory clock is normal. I've talked to other users and confirmed this clock setting is significantly lower than typical overclocking averages. Anyone have suggestions?

Try lowering it to 1000MHz core clock and default mem clock then stress test with komustor
What is this meant to achieve?
I was already able to stablise at 1010 core and 1600 mem after much testing but I want to go higher considering I should be able to.
You didn't even state that you were stable 1010-1600 already. The reason that I want you to try 1000-default was so that we will be able to determine if you need to add voltage to a slight overclock which in return, will help you have an idea on how far you can push the card. Next time you ask a question, please make sure to give as much detail as you can.

Did you try to add voltage?

Reduce the frequency to 1000MHz core clock and use the default memory clock, then perform a stress test with Komustor.

Try reducing it to 1000MHz core clock and default mem clock then stress test with komustor
What is this intended for?
I managed to stabilize at 1010 core and 1600 mem after extensive testing, but I aim to push higher since I believe it should be possible.

I figured it out. It was due to the powerplay being active.
