These boards don’t even match up. One is MSI’s cheapest DDR4 Z690, the other a mid-range DDR5 Z690. The Torpedo stands out as a much better motherboard, but it’s still more expensive than the MSI option in the US. I wouldn’t recommend using a Z690-P with a 12700K without proper cooling. That said, are these the only choices? There are many other solid Z690 boards available, such as the Z690-A and the Aorus Pro.

The Torpedo stands out as a much better motherboard, but it’s still more expensive than the MSI option in the US. I wouldn’t recommend using a Z690-P with a 12700K without proper cooling. It still hinges on the cost, but that board isn't bad. There are still superior choices in the same price range, though. If it's discounted, it could be worth considering. It's definitely not top-notch when it comes to VRMs—I'd feel confident investing a 12700K.
