I've been using the PRO Z690-A DDR4 MB for some time. The old BIOS (1.8) was unusually high in power consumption even when static at 1,175V core voltage—about 180W. With the updated BIOS (1.92), the voltage can drop slightly to 1.165V and the system now runs smoothly, while the CPU power is back around 160W. The latest microcode appears to have boosted efficiency noticeably. Temperatures have also dropped, reaching a max of 83°C instead of 88°C. Just a note: at over 20 minutes it crashed despite needing 167W, not the 180W+ seen in BIOS 1.8. Another update shows power limits are lower but temperatures remain similar—still 89°C at peak.
