The MSI Plague My mind has been lost for good My patience is gone Yeah...I have flash buttoned the BIOS, used 3 different USB's to get one that worked, Mobo restarted itself and the Flash BIOS light turned off (According to MSI Support and docs this means all good), RE-reinstalled components aaaaaand nothing. Black screen. Fans on all headers are powered, CPU is heating up, re-seated CPU, Cooling Fan, CPU/GPU/ATX Headers, I tried all monitors w/ HDMI and DLP, Ctrl+Alt+Del, waited for AM5 1st time boot...MSI says send in for RMA test but I want to be sure this isn't a PICNIC before I wait 2 weeks for a 'No Fault Detected' from MSI. Help me Obi-Wan KeNerdy. Da Pertz: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Fc7nJy PS: PSU is old. I know. No Overclocking currently planned and have eyes on a 750W full modular for replace. Trying to get to boot phase here. Also, If I gotta feed the MSI into a woodchipper while dancing naked around a fire and buy an ASRock I will, but don't wanna.

Identifying the red and yellow debug lights, checking for additional components from earlier systems, and confirming proper seating of power connectors are the key tasks.

Have you checked for CPU/DRAM indicators in the EZDebug LEDs? Also, have you attempted a fresh USB stick and re-flashing? Certainly, clearing the CMOS is a good step. If a BIOS update failed, you might need to contact an RMA service—perhaps with a deposit, they’ll send a replacement and refund you if it’s confirmed faulty.

Make sure your CPU and RAM are properly seated. Verify the power connectors on your CPU as well.

Only the component repository is the PSU. The rest was removed to make way for the new Mobo. I rebuilt the build twice; after the first iteration I inspected all pins, repositioned the CPU/RAM, and double-checked every connector.

Have you attempted a CMOS reset? Otherwise, this would be the following step.

I haven't purchased a new USB stick. I've used a few over the years and learned that MSI boards tend to treat newer USB sticks like regular drives rather than treating them as external storage. I've tested everything and changed the CMOS battery between tries. I didn't skip the header, and even low voltage could cause harm—so it's best done safely and with agreement.

It's fine to skip the headers. Just trying a different approach.
