I owned an older HP computer that I planned to upgrade with improved storage and a GPU. The motherboard wouldn't accept my GTX 1050. I transferred the i7 2600 and 8 GB RAM (GEIL 1333 MHz 2x4GB) to a second-hand MSI P67A GD65 and it also failed to boot. An LED would illuminate briefly during startup, then the system would power down and attempt to restart. After several reboots, the LED became static and stayed on until I removed the CMOS battery. The manual mentioned these lights were BIOS indicators, showing primary and secondary failures—suggesting a corrupt or bricked system. I attempted to recover it using guides, a 4GB FAT32 USB drive in a USB2.0 port (tried various ports), and placed the BIOS file at the root of the drive named AMIBOOT.ROM, but it didn't work. The seller said it functioned properly and wouldn’t refund me. Any suggestions before purchasing another unit? Full specs: i7 2600 with MSI P67A GD65 8 GB (2x4GB GEIL 1333 MHz), Gigabyte 240GB SSD, WD Green 1.5 TB, Corsair CX430 PSU.
