MSI MPG Gaming edge WIFI Z3900 not connected via Ethernet
Hello, I recently received new PC components, but upon arrival the packaging was visibly compromised. I contacted the supplier who advised me to look for any visible damage. All boxes seemed intact except the motherboard case, which appeared dusty and had minor scratches on the top, though it still functioned properly. I wasn’t sure if I should disclose my shipping details or delivery information. I decided to assemble the unit but would inspect each part before placing them inside. Everything proceeded smoothly and the system booted up successfully. After installing Windows onto the M.2 drive, I encountered problems. During setup, Windows prompted me to connect to the internet, but I couldn’t due to incomplete driver installation. When I connected via Ethernet cable, it didn’t work either, which puzzled me—possibly because the drivers weren’t loaded yet. I downloaded the necessary chipset, Wi-Fi, and LAN drivers from my phone and installed them manually. The chipset functioned correctly, but the Wi-Fi and LAN remained unreliable, with persistent driver errors and a failure to locate the Ethernet port. I attempted to connect my phone via USB to research solutions, and once it connected, the Wi-Fi stabilized without additional drivers. I tried MSI Dragon Center for driver fixes, but it didn’t resolve the LAN issues. The network section only displayed Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections. I explored various online fixes—removing RAM, resetting BIOS, draining CMOS—but none resolved the problem. Notably, the LAN device wasn’t visible in the system menu, making driver reinstallation impossible. I also tried swapping the M.2 drive with a standard SSD, but the issue persisted. This situation is new to me, and I’m uncertain whether to return the item. Please let me know if you can offer guidance or advice. Thank you for your help.
The Wi-Fi started working, which was good, but I wasn’t sure about the LAN port either. I sent it back without fixing anything, feeling a bit disappointed since it didn’t run smoothly.
