Right now, I don't see much reason to worry about updating the BIOS on any B550 board for older Ryzen 5000 models like the 5800X. The chances that a board has been sitting in a store or warehouse for over three years are nearly nonexistent, and any recent production would likely include a supported BIOS update. Unless you acquired this used unit from someone who hasn't updated their BIOS in the past three years—which is extremely rare—you should be fine to proceed.
