I have several Best Buy gift cards, which helped me choose between these two boards for my 9900KF. Once the 3080TI is available, I might get the same GPU brand and consider it as well. I plan to use the machine mainly for gaming and streaming, with occasional video encoding. Which option do you think offers better value?

I'm trying this MSI board for the first time and I really dislike the BIOS. It's sometimes slow, other times it works fine. Apart from that, everything else seems okay. Personally, I'd choose an ASUS just because of that issue.

From what I understand, the Asus BIOS is quite refined compared to MSI’s. Performance and appearance are my top priorities, and while the Asus board looks better, the MSI offers more rear I/O connections. I don’t necessarily need those ports, but having them would be nice. Right now I’m using a Meshify C case with dark tempered glass, so the look isn’t a major issue. I was also thinking about switching to the NZXT H510 for its USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port on the front side, though I suppose tinting the glass would be fun too.

I received the fractal S2 to connect a front USB C port, but I haven’t used it much. My cable is plugged into the rear IO, and it only shows up as a USB key port that I rarely access. Essentially, are you sure you’ll actually use it often enough to justify the purchase? If so, go for the H510.

I’m likely to switch between USB C every couple of days. I’d like Fractal to refresh the Meshify C since I don’t want a bulky case like the S2. If they designed their I/O similar to the H510, removing the thumb screws would keep the glass panel flush and allow a grill option without the fractal logo, making the case ideal.
