For your Intel i5-12600K setup, the MSI MAG Z690 Tomahawk WiFi DDR4 seems more suitable due to its higher base clock speeds and better overall performance potential. The ASUS TUF Gaming z690-Plus WiFi D4 offers solid features but may not match the Tomahawk’s speed advantages in a high-end build. Let me know if you need more details!

Both models are Z690 compatible; the choice depends on specific features you need, such as storage capacity or other specifications.

I included additional details to that message. If both options suit your requirements for the intended purpose, choose the most affordable or available one. Neither product is suitable for extended use due to their recent release, so rely on someone you can confidently assess.

Reviews from tech sources tend to be more common than personal opinions here. The MSI Tomohawk receives positive feedback, though pairing it with a 12600K results in most boards performing similarly. With a 12900K, board selection becomes more crucial due to power and heat demands. However, a 12600K still supports any board. Between the two options, brand preference, features, and cost are key factors. Do you lean toward a specific manufacturer? Are the capabilities of each model comparable? Are prices similar? Do appearance or RGB settings matter to you? For instance, I’ve consistently used MSI boards until switching to Gigabyte, which offers its Dragon Center suite for RGB control and CPU overclocking. Gigabyte’s app also provides overclocking and RGB management; based on my experience, it seems slightly more user-friendly. Some users dislike Dragon Center due to past issues, but I haven’t tried ASUS boards yet—I assume they have their own solutions for RGB and tuning.
