I’m evaluating the setup and noticed a compatibility warning for the MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk WIFI motherboard. The manual points to the CPU_PWR2 connector, but the PSU listings don’t mention a 4-pin version. I’ve scoured the Corsair website and found no standard PSUs with that connector. Since this is my first build, I’m unsure if a non-standard setup is acceptable. MSI using a non-standard connection seems unusual, while Corsair not offering it feels odd too. Would you consider alternative PSU options or stick with Corsair?

It doesn't matter, the system will work just fine without it, even with a 3950x. You only need it when working below freezing with liquid nitrogen.

Only the 8-pin is needed. The additional 4 pins are reserved for heavy overclocking such as ln2. With ambient cooling you won’t be able to achieve this effectively. The single 8-pin can also supply up to 384W of power, especially with a hammered 3950x setup. You won’t really reach the desired performance.

a few of their PSUs include an additional EPS connector, while the RXM doesn't. Yes, some boards come with it.

I totally get what you're saying! I've stayed clear of RGB, even though it can be stylish when done right. I prefer seeing what I'm working with directly. Thanks a lot for clarifying this!
