You're likely thinking about a specific update or feature for your MSI board. It seems like the information might be missing from public sources. I recommend checking directly with the manufacturer's support team or forums for the most accurate details.

Open Ryzen Master, not the BIOS.
They included it in the BIOS update about two years back.

I’m already using pbo2... running it in BIOS would be far easier. Regarding your point, that setup requires a special custom build and is only available from Gigabyte for the 5800X3D. For MSI there’s limited information, though they did add it recently. To be clear, it was included but is currently disabled or unavailable for that model.

This statement suggests a preference for CO in the B550 mortar, though it's unclear if this applies to the 5800x3d model.

i still believe that, but my focus was on the 5800X3D and certain updates about msi/b550 boards... it's quite strange... they claim my board should support "kombo strike," but it doesn't, and the msi site doesn't mention anything about it. (i'm not after kombo strike, i want curve optimizer instead) if i had purchased the strix f, i already would have curve optimizer *sigh*
