Do you have a question about overclocking your i5 6400 in an MSI H110M PRO-VD motherboard? I noticed others have successfully overclocked it to 4 GHz, so I’m curious if you can do the same with your motherboard.

Typically, only CPUs with model numbers ending in K can be overclocked. A recent solution was discovered to allow overclocking of non-K CPUs, though this requires a particular motherboard and a compatible case, which you don't have. Therefore, the conclusion is no, you won't be able to boost your CPU on your current setup.
