MSI B660 Bazzoka is experiencing boot looping issues.
I played Valorant today and then the game suddenly stopped. A blue screen appeared, indicating a Windows error requiring a restart. The PC restarted itself but crashed again this time, specifically stating "memory overclocking failed." I removed XMP from the BIOS, enabled fast boot, and attempted to boot into Windows, but it still crashed immediately with different errors each time. I tried a fresh Windows installation, but it also failed repeatedly. The installation process would crash at various stages—when clicking install, when choosing partitions, or when selecting the operating system version. I changed my RAM, SSD, and power supply, then attempted another clean install, but it didn’t work. Every time I try to install Windows, it crashes. Now I’m unsure whether the issue lies with the CPU or motherboard, as I can’t test them easily. I haven’t updated the BIOS either. Should I consider updating my BIOS? I’m worried about a crash that could damage my motherboard. However, I can access BIOS without issues, so it seems the problem is likely with the CPU. Additionally, I installed software called "VB-CABLE Virtual Audio Device" on the same day. Could this have contributed to the issue? The error codes I’ve received are: 1. System service exception, 2. kmode exception not handled, 3. system thread exception not handled, 4. irql not less or equal, 5. page fault in nonpaged area (most common). Other codes were missed. My specs include an Intel Core i5-12400, MSI MAG B660M, B AZOOKA DDR4 RAM (8GB, 3200MHz), MSI 1660 Super Ventus XS PSU, and a Cx 450 motherboard.
It seems there are some mistakes in the message. Let's clarify:
Cpus generally don’t just stop working suddenly unless something serious is wrong. If they do fail, it’s usually due to overheating, power issues, or software glitches. Spraying IPA might help if it’s a liquid spill, but it’s not a common fix. Faulty storage can happen too, but that’s less frequent. You might want to test cheaper drives since used ones are expensive these days.
I'm not sure if you've read the entire post, but I noted that I modified everything except the CPU and motherboard. I've experimented with various RAM, a fresh hard drive, and another power supply. Still, it's the same issue—boot looping. Check out Greg Salazar's new video and jump to the segment where he switches the CPU from 5800x to 5900x. It seems similar to what's happening in the video.
