Begin the system boot, wait a short time without success, CPU and memory diagnostics flash red and amber indicators. No activity despite previous normal operation. Actions taken: 1. Restart and briefly unplug the power supply. 2. Reinsert RAM and try different slots (A2&B2). 3. Erase CMOS – restored functionality. Additional steps: After startup, enter BIOS to activate AMD EXPO, save and reboot; PC starts correctly. But when shutting down or entering sleep, the indicators reappear, requiring another CMOS reset. Components used: PCPartPicker List – AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 4.7 GHz 6-core ($269) CPU cooler (Amazon), MSI B650 motherboard (Amazon), G.Skill Flare X5 RAM ($96), Western Digital Green SN350 SSDs, Samsung 970 Evo Plus drives, XFX Speedster graphics card ($789). Case: Lian Li LANCOOL ($99), Corsair RM850e PSU ($129), purchase total $1695.95). All details recorded as of 2023-09-11 11:50 EDT.**

Consider giving your CPU another try by reseating it, and also inspect the motherboard pins for any bends.

Simple fix, avoid putting the system to sleep. Usually, sleep, hibernation and standby hurt performance. It’s likely there’s a problem with your motherboard, a missing BIOS setting, or the hardware itself isn’t supporting the feature anymore due to a manufacturer change.

Last night I performed a standard shutdown and then restarted this morning, only to face the same lighting issues again. It seems this might not be my primary issue. I’m beginning to suspect it’s related to the BIOS not accepting the EXPO update, which is quite surprising.

I’m trying to skip this whenever possible, mainly since I don’t have any extra thermal paste on hand, but if necessary, I’ll do it.

Ensure proper installation to avoid repasting. Correct work means no need for repasting

The issue doesn’t seem linked to EXPO; the device worked after rebooting without any bending.

It functions similarly to XMP (memory overclocking) yet operates as an 'auto' OC

Are you sure your BIOS is current with the newest version? Some users reported unusual memory behavior, and updating the latest motherboard BIOS—especially with the newest AMD AGESA patches—has resolved those issues.

I assembled this build just last Friday, which means everything is current. The BIOS was among the initial steps I took.
