I just finished configuring a new PC setup. The mainboard is MSI B550 Unify, CPU Ryzen 9 5900X, RAM Crucial Ballistix RGB 3600 at 32GB (16GB×2), CL16 BL2K16G36C16U4BL. The graphics card is EVGA 1080Ti, which I expect to be swapped for a 3080Ti soon. Storage includes one Sabrant 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive in slot M.2_1 and another Samsung 970 Evo+ 1TB in slot M.2_3. Peripherals feature an Elgato HD60 Pro capture card. Cooling system is an EK AIO 240 closed-loop case, housed in a Be Quiet 500DX unit. The issue I’m facing is that after the EZ Debug LED loops through repeatedly, it finally settles on the "boot" LED. The error code reads "02," which likely indicates "AP initialization before microcode loading." I tried updating the BIOS using the EZ Flash utility, but I wasn’t sure if it would succeed. I used a 64GB USB 3.1 Samsung flash drive for the installation, formatted it to FAT 32 and renamed it "MSI.ROM." I also removed one memory stick and kept a single 16GB stick in the DIMMA2 slot. Despite following these suggestions, I still can’t get past the post. Overall, everything appears to be powering on correctly—lights like the EK Vardar RGB fans, pump block RGB, Crucial Ballistix memory lights, 1080Ti LED, and the power reset red LEDs are all working. I’m at a standstill. Any advice or guidance would be invaluable.

Disconnect the power, take out the CMOS chip, let it sit for a while, similar to removing it and grabbing a coffee before continuing. Reinsert it and have success.

I've replaced all NVMe SSDs and now use just one Samsung 850 SATA SSD in port 2. After four consecutive days of troubleshooting, I finally got a positive result. This might mean both NVMe drives are defective. The BIOS is up to date at version 7D13v124 (beta).
