Hello, I was working on upgrading my RAM to 32GB and found the xmp profile on my motherboard (MSI b450 tomahawk max) wasn't loading at 2100mhz. I manually adjusted the frequency and voltage, but the issue persisted. After a CMOS reset didn’t help, I attempted a BIOS flash via USB flash bios. I loaded the full zip file as MSI.ROM and started the process, unsure how far it progressed. Eventually, using the correct BIOS file resolved the problem, and pressing the flashback button triggered a slow blink followed by a steady light. All USB sticks are formatted with fat32 and have fresh MBR partitions; I’ve tested various sizes (4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB). My next step is to buy a new USB stick from the store and see if it makes a difference. Right now, the motherboard seems disconnected except for the PSU cables for the CPU and ATX 24-pin, which worries me—I might have damaged it by loading an incorrect BIOS file. I’m hoping the USB flash function still allows a new BIOS even in a failed state. Any guidance would be appreciated.
