I considered mentioning clr_cmos jumper, but it was placed right next to the CMOS battery. That black PCIe slot only supports PCI2x4, so adding a GPU would hurt performance. The SATA cable might be touching a removable shroud or the heatsink.

It’s damaging the plastic surface of the card. I definitely wouldn’t want to alter it in any way, naturally. A PCI adapter costs around 30 euros or more, which is significantly higher than the SSD price. I’m considering a SATA to USB adapter instead.

Some pictures show the cable being plugged in, a graphics card on top, and the clip still not snapping yet—probably won’t. Maybe a 90-degree low-profile extender could work instead? The idea is to stretch it horizontally or vertically. Ideally, desoldering the connector would be possible, but in practice it seems unlikely. Updated August 30, 2021 by ManemeJeff
