I've been adjusting the voltage with afterburner for a year without problems. Recently, it started causing BSODs. I spent time troubleshooting and even reinstalled Windows twice. Today I removed Afterburner and ran my usual games and tests—no crashes. Normally, with stock settings, I'd restart within a minute of running Superposition. I've been trying to fix the issue by lowering the voltage and adjusting clocks for stability. It mostly works, though I still get occasional crashes. My first thought was my GPU was failing. Then I installed EVGA Precision X1 and let it auto overclock on the curves page. I didn't change anything else—just let it overclock the card. Surprisingly, without crashes, even at higher temperatures, clocks stayed steady and performance improved. When I reset everything back to stock, there were no crashes or BSODs with PX1. After uninstalling PX1, which is tricky because its VF curves aren't visible, I reinstalled MSI Afterburner. It crashed right away at stock settings. A small voltage reduction might help, but it could randomly crash on the desktop or Discord. What's going on? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Based on my observations, any undervolting might lead to unforeseen crashes under certain conditions. For my 3080 it functioned well initially but later experienced repeated crashes in a new Unity project after just two minutes. I also modified the settings because some games would occasionally lock or freeze for a few seconds before resuming.

The problem is occurring during a stock transaction, which is concerning.
