The issue with your MSP430Fxa on the MSI 990FXGA gaming setup is that the motherboard restricts voltage and multiplier settings for the 9000 series FX chips. Since you're using a 9590, you can't adjust those parameters. Modifying the BIOS to bypass this lockout isn't something most users do, but you might explore BIOS tweaks or firmware updates that could allow more flexibility. If unsure, consult a specialist or check community forums for similar configurations.

Ensure the board supports full CPU overclocking. Use BIOS version 1.3 from the website.

You're using BioScape 1.4, but downgrading to an older version shouldn't affect your workflow.

I hadn't realized anything special about your brief post. We're not mind readers, are we... Anyway, that's MSIs top board featuring a 990FX chipset. The VRM package is built for high clock speeds. To assist, a detailed system spec sheet (including exacts, not just estimates) would be ideal. Including the make and model, memory type, case and cooling flow setup, and any OS or OC software you've used would be perfect.

Using the FX 9590 with improved cooling solutions. A 4x4GB DDR3 RAM setup paired with an MSI 990F Xeon gaming motherboard. BIOS version 1.4, custom fan modifications for VRMs to maintain lower temps. Dark Rock Pro 4 Tower Cooler with lapped base plate for enhanced airflow. An 256GB SATA 6Gb/s SSD array in RAID 0 configuration. GeForce 9800 GTX+ included as a display adapter. Silverstone 750W 80+ Gold fully modular PSU (SST-ST75F-GS). Optimized for a Win 10 Pro build, version 21h1, currently not activated. All details aimed to be useful.

Absolutely, that Sniper configuration looks good. I’d love to have a set like that. I was mainly using Mushkin on DDR3 systems. Could you clarify why the BIOS restricts multi and v-core adjustments? Do you have any visual examples? Is it disabled in the BIOS settings?

The issue appears to be unresolved, with no options available for adjustment. There are no visual changes, and when the OC Genie is activated, it displays a message about CPU limitations.

This might be a safety measure built into the system, possibly controlled via the BIOS settings.

Apologies for the delayed response. I believe it's possible. I'll check for any available documentation rather than attempting a modification. Please wait a moment.
