MSI 1070 armor OC
MSI 1070 armor OC
Hi, I'm new to overclocking a GPU for the first time. I read some guides, downloaded the MSI afterburner, and used Unigin's latest benchmark "Superposition." Since I mainly play in VR, I only ran the VR benchmark test. I got around +100 cores and +500 memory, with core voltage at 100% and power limit at 108%. Anything above that caused artifacts.
The new Afterburner app has a curve I can tweak—should I adjust it and what values should I use? Also, my GPU temperature was between 89-90°C with an aggressive fan curve. That’s quite high. I saw someone else with the same GPU and settings getting "fine temps" at 83°C using auto fan curve. Were those temperatures normal?
Higher voltage results in increased temperature. Therefore, reduce the voltage or keep it at the default setting. The maximum operating current you can achieve depends on the chip, which varies by silicon type. However, with the Armor model, expect limited performance since it's manufactured affordably—meaning it lacks a strong PCB and VRM. It seems your card is likely constrained more by power limitations than other factors.
The card is delivered with a factory overclock, so I wouldn't be surprised to see more performance than expected.
It's not advisable to rely on another card of the same model, as even slight differences will affect results.
