Sure, you can create an MS-DOS bootable USB and use it to install Windows 8 on another computer.

You can create a bootable Windows 8 USB drive using the ISO file with a useful program named Rufus.

You've successfully transferred your DVD to a flash drive, and it functions well in most situations.

You're referring to the old MS-DOS environment that appears when a USB drive is connected during startup. It displays a text-based interface with white characters on a black background, similar to classic DOS systems. This is often what people mean when they mention that familiar look.

I don’t own the Windows 8 drive since I got my computer from Staples. Today I was cleaning up a USB and it prompted me to start MS-DOS.
