Moving User Folders
Moving User Folders
I’m trying to configure my new PC according to my preferences, but I’m feeling frustrated. Here’s what’s happening: I have a small 256GB SSD for the operating system and a larger HDD for all other storage. My goal is to relocate C:/Users to F:/Users on that HDD partition. I can move individual folders inside C:/Users/MyNameHere..., but the two target folders remain untouched. I want to keep the HDD organized for quick access, as the main reason for this PC was improved performance, not added clutter. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Rubberburner89
P.S. I’m using Windows 10
Select each user folder, then go to Properties and pick a new location.
I understood that section, though it doesn’t affect the C path. It simply lets me relocate all the folders within.
It seems you're questioning why relocating is necessary when everything fits inside. The idea might feel unusual because storing items in that folder already takes up much space.
Are you sure you have the right to change these files? Review the security section.

It's about keeping my PC tidy and following a strict routine. Every time I open files or videos, the system shows me the main folder as C:/—which isn’t accurate. I’ve verified my permissions multiple times, but it still says I can’t relocate them. It’s a bit of OCD, honestly.
There exists a method, though it requires time to explain in detail.
