At your workplace you have access to the admin account, which also includes the staff login. You wish to swap spinning drives for SSDs so the system boots exactly as before. With an admin account, there are likely procedures or tools available—check if your organization provides a method for transferring entire hard drives to SSDs. Your USB dongle can connect the SSD temporarily, but ensure it’s used correctly and safely. Seek guidance from your IT department or refer to internal documentation for safe transfer options.

There are various cloning tools that can function, provided the storage device is sufficiently large to accommodate the data. For Samsung drives, use the Samsung Data Migration Tool. If you're using Crucial or similar systems, Acronis is a good option. Macrium Reflect is available at no cost. Other solutions exist as well. I've successfully completed this process multiple times with those three programs at least. Additional suggestions were also shared.

You can set up CloneZilla LIVE on a USB drive, start it, and then discover the connected storage devices. After reviewing the options, you’ll find a guide that’s easy for beginners to follow.

Generally avoid using drive cloning, but if a fresh install isn't possible and you're starting from scratch this year, go ahead. Macrium Reflect is the software I often see suggested.

I used DiskGenius for the OS migration, and it performed well. However, keep in mind that if you have active System Restore Points, you’ll need to adjust them afterward, or else it might attempt to create restore points on a non-existent HDD from your migrated system. Also, if BitLocker is enabled, turn it off and let the drive decrypt before proceeding with the migration.

I use Diskgenius but avoid cloning the drive. I've noticed that using the "Backup disk to image" feature and then restoring the image to the new drive usually works better. Just note you'll need storage space, like a USB drive if it fits the size requirements.

I mean it functions more effectively. Have you experienced any issues when using this software for cloning?
