Can you transfer your current Gen4 SSD running Windows 11 to another Gen4 slot? You're thinking about swapping it for a Gen5 SSD in the fastest position. There should be no problems, but make sure the drive matches the slot requirements.

The ideal slot for the boot drive should match the same generation or be higher, with a preference for the top slot when using the highest generation drive. This doesn’t mean you can ignore the BIOS Boot Priority settings.

Certainly. After relocating the SSD, check your BIOS settings and confirm the boot sequence. It’s possible the system defaults to other storage options instead of the SSD. Sometimes inserting a USB device causes the PC to fail to recognize it due to priority settings, even though it should boot normally. Ensure the SSD remains the top choice in the boot order.
