While organizing my documents, I discovered all of my previously-saved game files. Consequently, I created a new folder to consolidate them, yet I’m aware that altering these save files could corrupt my games and prevent them from locating their saved data. It would be ideal if there were a method for avoiding shortcuts and preserving the integrity of my games during save file relocation… thank you for your assistance!

Are you simply moving your SAVE game data temporarily? You should restore the save game files to their original location—such as Documents, MYGames, AppData, ProgramData, etc.—as games will access those areas. If a saved game file isn't present in the correct folder, you won’t be able to use SAVE while playing. For STEAM and UPLAY, check within the folders created by the respective app/client. I consistently maintain backups of my save game files as a precaution against OS corruption or game stability problems that might necessitate a full reinstall. What PC games do you typically play?

I previously succeeded in permanently relocating the save files for certain games by employing symbolic links. However, this occurred quite some time ago, and I subsequently reinstalled Windows, which has rendered that configuration obsolete.
