I acquired Metro Exodus through the Epic Games platform because it was no longer accessible on Steam (due to its removal for an inexplicable reason). As I’m accustomed to regularly creating backups and restoring games within Steam, I’d like to inquire whether there exists a method for transferring the game to my laptop rather than needing to download the entire 40 GB file once more.

Begin the download process so that the application installer generates a directory for game data, then close the installer. Subsequently, duplicate the game folder into the “folder” that was being downloaded; the application should recognize it and complete a validation check.
