Hey, I understand the situation. You need to move files between a Windows XP machine and a Windows 10 machine without using a flash drive. The file size ranges from 20 MB to 1 GB. My initial idea was to connect the XP machine to your home network, but I’m not sure if that works with XP. Work groups don’t seem to be supported either. Since he isn’t very tech-savvy, I’m looking for a straightforward method that’s easy to follow.

Set up a shared folder on the XP computer, then connect it to the Win 10 machine as a network drive so files can be accessed across the home network.

From XP, linking to W10 seems preferable. You can right away export the file to the W10 device and then power down XP afterward.
