You want folder links to originate from different locations in Windows 10—specifically, music and documents from F:/, while keeping C:/ and H:/ as the default. This isn’t standard behavior, but you can achieve it by adjusting permissions or using system settings. Let me know if you need guidance on how to set this up. Thanks!

Click the icon with the right-click option, open its properties, choose the location, and set it to F. For instance, right-click the "videos" button and select properties, then adjust the path to F:\Videos.

It’s simple to access, like right-clicking and selecting Documents, then Properties. Move to the Location tab and update the address. I’d make sure to back up the files beforehand for safety. This is how I’ve minimized the size of my SSD boot drive.

In fact, @Some Random Member @johndms also uses it smoothly on the desktop, though it might lead to certain issues.

I work with the registry and adjust the path for "User Shell Folders" so everything from AppData lands on your D: drive. This ensures you won’t lose your app settings, data, or game progress if you reformat the disk.

This offers clearer insights while simplifying complex ideas. The previous version was more detailed but less concise, making it harder to grasp quickly.

You have the ability to shift more than your Documents/Videos/Pictures/Music folders. The scenario I described involves redirecting AppData, which isn't covered here. Not everyone would be interested in altering their AppData, but since my system backs up the D:\<user> directory—containing my personal settings, game configurations, save data, and Steam/game location—I can handle it. Another advantage is managing multiple machines; you can automate registry changes. As part of my recovery process, I use a script to set registry keys. I can reinstall the OS or rebuild my user profile, apply the redirect file, and everything resumes smoothly.

It seems like you're considering a plan. I'm here to help you refine it.
