Move the entire C drive to a new storage device.
Move the entire C drive to a new storage device.
I purchased a new NVMe SSD and considered installing it directly into my OS. Could I transfer the C drive to another storage device without setting everything up from scratch? Is it necessary to connect drives to another computer to mirror them, or can I manage them through BIOS/OS settings? Should I ignore this and handle drive management properly when building my system later? The old C drive is a standard SATA SSD with 500GB, while the new one is a 980 Evo 1TB NVMe drive.
Get the free Samsung data migration tool. It simplifies transferring everything from the SSD to NVME. The tool is built specifically for this task only. Adjust the boot order in BIOS and everything should work. I performed this process two months ago, and it took around 10 minutes to clone the drive.
