Move steam games to another computer

I plan to spend a few days in a place with decent internet and see if I can use my laptop connected to my Steam account to download games. Then I might move them via USB, Wi-Fi, or something similar without any problems.

Your files are saved online. Just install Steam and use your current account to download the game—no transfers required.

After downloading on your laptop, simply move the games folder from inside Steam to another PC. Then log into Steam on the other machine and use the download option for the game you copied. Steam will look for any existing files and confirm that all required files are present in the correct location (Games folders/file stored in c:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common). I handle this myself since my work connection has 40MB internet but only 2MB at home.

Not every title includes cloud storage; checking your collection shows some lack the cloud icon. If you're mainly playing Valve games, cloud saves are likely available there. For instance, Witcher 2 supports them, while Witcher 1 does not.
