The scroll on my mouse moves smoothly left to right, and the spinning wheel sensation feels distinct. I can't scroll up and down anymore. Is there a solution to fix this issue, or is it a permanent problem?

You can remove the mouse and inspect it. There are two screws beneath the rear glide pads.

Use a microfiber cloth or a soft brush to gently wipe away the mouse gliders.

Warm them up to extend their life and avoid harming the pad. Use a very fine tool such as a knife to gently slide underneath, and possibly some tweezers to carefully extract and reinsert once everything is put back together.

I reviewed some YouTube tutorials. I need a tiny screwdriver that fits the screw and can handle a hair dryer. I'll keep you posted.

Blow dry the pads for two minutes. Then attempt to remove them by using a knife or gently nudging. Continue until they come off.

The pads or plastic near it should feel warm, indicating proper heating for the knife to glide in.

Updated: I removed the pads and took off the screws. I checked the mouse and found the wire holder was loose, so I reinserted it. Now the handle feels tight again. When I try to plug it back in, it doesn’t scroll properly.
