Mouse problems are frequently encountered in older Grand Theft Auto titles.
Hello, I recently purchased the GTA trilogy bundle (San Andreas, Vice City, and III) on Steam several months ago. However, when I attempt to play these games, my mouse input is unresponsive – movement results in no action on the screen. Similarly, clicking to select items or utilizing the scroll wheel produces no effect whatsoever. I also obtained a separate copy of San Andreas directly from Rockstar during their recent free offer download. I’m experiencing the identical issues with this version as well. After researching online, many users suspect a compatibility issue related to my operating system. Despite trying various fixes recommended by others, I haven’t achieved any positive results. Interestingly, on a different PC running Windows 10, I had a working copy of San Andreas downloaded from PirateBay. Considering my current PC is primarily used for work, I prefer to obtain games from trustworthy and secure sources.
I’m considering establishing a Windows XP virtual machine on this system and installing the games within it. I understand concerns about running an outdated OS connected to the internet for security reasons, and I would plan to limit its online access as much as possible.
My PC specifications are:
RX570 graphics card
FX8350 processor
8GB of RAM
1TB hard drive
I own San Andreas on Steam and Windows 10, and my mouse was automatically detected upon installation. Do you use a standard mouse? If you have an unusual gaming or specialized mouse, it may possess drivers that are incompatible with older games.
