I'm experiencing problems where moving the mouse at higher refresh rates leads to frame drops or significant lag spikes. This happens with 1000Hz, 500Hz, and even 8000Hz settings. It seems some users face this issue, but it's unclear why. I suspect it might relate to my CPU struggling under heavy multithreaded load. My system uses an i7-8700, which is known for multi-thread challenges. Should I consider switching to AMD or upgrading the processor, or is there another factor at play? PC Specs: CPU - i7-8700, GPU - RTX 2080 Super (MSI Ventus OC), RAM - 16GB 3200MHz (HyperX Fury), Memory clock at 2666MHz due to motherboard, SSD - Kingston NV1 500GB M.2, Motherboard - ASRock B365M-HDV, Cooler - some Be Quiet model, GPU temps are stable but CPU temps are higher).
Only a handful of titles support 8K refresh rates, apparently Overwatch stands out. For the rest, stick with 1K and you'll be fine. A 1000Hz frame rate shouldn't be too much of a problem, though I'm not sure what might be causing it.
