I created a brand new setup and the parts include: AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT, RTX 3070 EVGA, 16GB RAM Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200MHz, x570 Aorus Elite Pro motherboard, 750W Corsair PSU gold rated, and a 1TB Samsung EVO 860 4TB Seagate SSD. I believe that’s all. My previous machine was a pre-assembled unit from BestBuy. It had an i5-9600F, 8GB RAM (single stick), GTX 1660, 500W power supply, and 1224GB total storage. I felt the need to upgrade because my initial PC caused problems, and I aimed to elevate gaming performance. After the upgrade, I realized I hadn’t fully disconnected everything from my old system—just moved data, files, and apps. My brother advised me to disconnect the HDMI cable from my previous PC to the monitor, but didn’t mention which one. I mistakenly unplugged the power supply while my old machine was running. He shouted at me and asked me to boot up my old PC to verify everything was operational. That prompted me to start setting up my new system. I transferred Windows 10 onto a USB drive and obtained an activation key from a low-cost site. Once my new PC was ready, I downloaded games to resume gaming. When I first played a title, I checked the graphics settings and frame rate. But during gameplay, I noticed my mouse felt sluggish. I wasn’t sure why—my mouse software was installed and adjusted to my preferences. I assumed the DPI matched my old machine, yet performance dropped. I searched online for solutions, found fixes, and tried reinstalling drivers, Windows, and even downloaded third-party optimization tools. I changed the enhanced pointer option in settings, checked registry values, and adjusted mouse threshold settings. Input lag was still around 4.17ms, same as before. I tested with a different mouse and USB port, but the issue persisted. I also observed that my old PC’s mouse settings had changed—thresholds set to 6 and 10, now at 0 and 0. I wasn’t sure if this affected my problem. This issue began after my new build. My mouse worked fine initially, but now it’s causing confusion. I’m desperate for a lasting solution and need help.
Did you keep the same sensitivity settings in Windows as before? Also, did you verify the sensitivity in your games? Games typically don’t retain your preferences unless you reinstalled them on a device without those settings. If mouse acceleration was enabled or disabled on your previous computer, it should match the setup on your new machine.
I adjusted the same sensitivity settings as before. I tested them in every game. All I needed to do was log in. My data remains intact, including game preferences and cosmetics. I verified everything matches my old PC, which is correct. The issue only appeared on my previous machine. After installing Windows on the new PC, it was set by default, so I disabled it and it still worked the same.
