You're experiencing a growing problem where your mouse and keyboard behave oddly. The mouse sometimes misinterprets single clicks as double clicks, and the keyboard produces duplicate characters when pressed once. This issue has persisted over several months. I've attempted various fixes including cleaning the hardware with alcohol, scanning for malware, checking ports, updating firmware, reinstalling the OS, and even swapping USB connections. Despite these efforts, the problem continues to affect both devices. Your CORSAIR Strain RGB keyboard and Harpoon mouse are recent additions, and you're unsure if the issue is isolated to one device or widespread. Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have an extra mouse or keyboard available for testing? Or a laptop that you could connect the keyboard and mouse to to check if the issue occurs there?

Keyboard -> MX key noise while pressing. Applying alcohol and gently moving the switch can often resolve it. All MX switches are susceptible, particularly with age or lower quality models. Occurs when the plastic casing breaks down into dust from use. Mouse -> faulty switch requiring replacement or manual adjustment (opening switch, tweaking spring) if soldering isn't desired. No alternative solutions.
