Mount configurations for motherboards
Hi, I own an X570 UD motherboard from Gigabyte as displayed below. My dealer has only used six of the nine mounting points, leaving the last three slots after the RAM slots uncovered. Could this affect grounding? Also, there’s no power supply on the 24-pin connector side. If I want to install the remaining mounts, I might need to take the board off because the dealer hasn’t even secured the standoffs.
If no standoffs were used, your motherboard wasn’t installed correctly from the start. Does your case include threaded holes for standoffs behind the final row of holes on the board? You probably don’t need them, but you’d still have to hold the edge while connecting power or adding RAM.
You'll need to take out the motherboard to fit the standoffs, as it's connected through the power supply unit. Don't waste time installing them if they can't be used.
Yes, you can keep it as it is. The description mentions that the area around the ram has stable space, but the edge is the only weak part.
Sure, I'd like to confirm that you want to install the standoffs.
I understand your point. Placing all standoffs correctly would prevent any issues and avoid accidental damage to the motherboard. It’s a good idea to ensure everything is in its proper position.
