Hello, I purchased a Ryzen 7 9800x 3d CPU, an Asus Rog Strix B650-A gaming WiFi, and a Ryzen AM5 ATX motherboard from Amazon. Many online sources suggest that most motherboards require a BIOS update for the CPU to function properly. Since I haven’t made any mistakes, should I perform a BIOS update, or is it safe to leave it as is because the information might be outdated?

Hey there,
Yes, you are correct. Some mobo's are released for the last gen, may not have an up to date bios for the newer gen.
You could send an email to ASUS, and ask them about the board, and does it have the 2613 bios? Then you will know.
I would imaging however, that there is a bios update feature on your mobo that allows you to update the bios without the CPU, so you can get it to work. So check that out
The bios required is 2613, and you can get that on the support pages here:

Edit: Just to confirm your mobo does have the bios flashback tool, so you are good to go
