look for a mid-range motherboard that supports your i7-4790k and offers good gaming performance. aim for something under $150 usd, maybe a budget radeon rx 660 or an affordable gtx 970. ensure it has sufficient RAM and PCIe slots for your future upgrades.

The 1150 socket is quite outdated now, leaving limited options. Expect high prices and few alternatives. Grab what you can, and steer clear of strange servers or mysterious Chinese branded products if you're playing. You might spot cheaper Asus or Gigabyte boards, though older models from around $60 could now cost over $100.

For pricing, please specify your range. A Radeon is ideal for raw gaming performance.

It looks like you're asking if you already have a solution and if the one provided is faulty.

under 150 keeps me in the clear, but I’m unsure what works for gaming or servers.

You could discover some used items at a lower price. Search for local tech communities and inquire about spare motherboards. If available nearby, others often gladly trade their outdated boards for items like beer or other goodies. I've done this several times.

Begin with a BIOS flash. For a fitting alternative, any inexpensive B85 or H81 works well.

It's a tiny nation, yet there might be some tech discussion boards online.
