At first setup, CPU and disk usage seem high as background tasks continue. It's typical for occasional lag or odd behavior; just wait a few hours, let updates finish, then restart. Eventually usage drops to zero and no further updates appear in settings. Your issues likely stemmed from manually installing motherboard drivers and other components. During a clean install, Windows should manage everything automatically—avoid forcing installs unless there are specific problems like network or audio issues.
Thanks for the update. I didn’t go through every detail because it would take a long time, and this isn’t my first attempt at setting up a Windows 10 system or building something from scratch. I checked how much CPU and storage were being used initially, but they were very low—just around 5-7%. I also looked at background tasks, which might have caused some lag. With this kind of power, background updates shouldn’t be an issue, and the system didn’t seem to run anything in the background. There’s no sign of drivers being installed automatically at the start, and the hardware info isn’t showing any errors. The only problem I noticed was with HWinfo stopping, and it seems like just this program is causing performance issues.
What would you suggest? Maybe reinstall the system again and let it run for a while before making changes?
