motherboard Gigabyte A520M DSH3 v1.1 audio issues
Hello guys, 3 months ago I finished building a budget gaming pc for myself for university and have been stuck with this annoying problem: I don't have any audio output from my motherboard. It doesn't have any output via the jack from the backplate and not from the front IO. It only detects as a valid speaker my monitor (with built-in speakers) via my Nvidia gpu and my PS4 controller (USB). I have been using a USB audio board to plug-in my headphones, but I am looking to get it fixed. I've found this issue on Reddit, multiple users reported it. I don't know if I am allowed to post links to other forums but I'll post some pics. The problem is most probably software-based. The problem probably is that the Nvidia audio driver overrides the Realtek ones. So, the Realtek HD Output driver does not appear in the device manager tab (see image 3). I tried multiple troubleshooting steps. Tried downloading the Realtek drivers again from their website. The installer doesn't work, because of the Nvidia drivers. So, the next logical step is to remove the Nvidia drivers. So I booted up into safe mode, removed the drivers, installed the new Realtek ones (they get added as legacy hardware) I install from there and now it appears in the device manager tab, but still no sound coming from any output port. And also that is an inconvenience since I cannot use the monitor anymore output then. Next up I did what another user was saying on reddit to do, and that is to install windows while connected to a monitor that doesn't have external speakers. it didn't work . I am kinda desperate to fix this issue, and this forum might be my last hope. Also, huge L to the Gigabyte support that ghosted me for a month and ended up not fixing my issue. Some things to note for anyone that can give me troubleshooting steps: The audio ports, both the front IO and back IO are in perfect condition, the problem is most probably software-based. The headphones I am testing the output on are working Realtek input drivers work fine.
