Motherboard for 13600k?
Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out the best MOTO for my 13600k. After searching a lot, I'm still unsure because there are so many options. I have a few questions: How important is it to choose a Z-series board instead of a B-series one? I don’t want to overclock much but I still want good Turbo Boost performance. If I get a Z-series board, should I pick DDR5 or DDR4? I know the current gap isn't huge, but maybe it will change later. I also need to know more details, but these are the main points. Also, I can only buy MSI or GIGABYTE boards.
I'll change the local costs to USD prices. Here are the updated listings:
AsRock B760M PG Riptide Micro ATX: 155-160 USD
MSI PRO B760M-P Micro ATX: 155 -160 USD
Gigabyte B760M DS3H Micro ATX: 155-160 USD
MSI PRO B760M-A WIFI Micro ATX: 195-200 USD
SI MAG B760M MORTAR Micro ATX: 210 - 220 USD
The asrock riptide, the msi b760m, and the msi mortar are all set to act.
The cost variation between ASRock Riptide and MSI Mortar largely stems from extra capabilities such as Gen 5 PCI-E support.
It's essentially a waste of money with PCIe 5.0 on 13th generation chips, since adding an NVMe drive causes them to shut down.
I acquired a Z board for better undervolting since it handles high temperatures well. I think the board’s specs limit you to DDR4 up to 3200/3600 MHz, and even DDR5 isn’t ideal. That’s what I heard, but I didn’t test it myself—just bought a budget MSI Z Pro and moved on.
