Motherboard Errors
I own this motherboard: https://www.supermicro.com/products/moth...BL-LN2.cfm. I recently purchased a Xeon X3330 with 4GB of ECC RAM from eBay (recommended by a trusted friend). It isn’t functioning properly now. Before powering it on, it keeps beeping continuously. I checked the beep codes and found a memory error. I considered it might be one faulty stick. I tried each RAM individually without success. Could my RAM be damaged or is there an issue with the CPU’s memory manager? Or are the RAM slots broken? I don’t want to waste much money, but if needed, I’ll address it.
Back then, I was dealing with problems on my Xeon. Someone suggested an online fix for CPU errors. It seems to help when using standard DDR2 without ECC. Just outputs the data directly if ECC isn't needed.
Could attempt to turn off ECC; it may indicate an issue preventing startup. You might locate options on Amazon or Newegg for further assistance.
could depend on worn-out components possibly requiring replacement of sticks—either new, used, or refurbished. I hope the motherboard and PCB traces are still in good condition.
