Someone can clarify that the 5, 6, and 7 audio ports are for connecting external devices like headphones or speakers. You don’t usually need them if you’re only using the 12 and 13 ports, but they’re there in case you want to add more audio output options later.

Certain configurations such as Logitech employ several channels beyond the primary board, requiring separate wires for center/sub, left/right, and rear channels.

5.1 or 7.1 sound setups are popular choices. A model like the Logitech X-540 comes to mind—I haven’t used it recently. It handles center, front left/right, rear left/right, and the subwoofer well.
