You're all right. The B450 is the chipset in the 400 series, while AMD supports only A-series boards for overclocking, not B or X series.

I’d like to point out that when purchasing these components in person, confirm the box indicates 3000 series readiness. This ensures the BIOS is installed for a 3000 series CPU. If you’ve already ordered a pre-assembled unit, they’ll handle updating the BIOS with the appropriate chip as required.
