Using MSE with Chrome, skipping any add-ons, and relying on basic judgment means I feel secure.

Norton 360 appeals to me because of its built-in management and backup features. I’m not sure why others dislike it, but it consumes minimal system resources and typically performs scans and backups while my computer is idle—such as when I’m away from the screen or watching a video.

I tried Avira before switching to Malwarebytes, but the 100% CPU usage issue still persists. Now I’m using Avira for better performance.

Consider your destination and avoid downloading from i'mavirus.com—though it seems like a playful site. Still, just in case, you might want to use Avast (free) and Malwarebytes.

Windows 7 ME works fine, but Windows 8 doesn't, except for rare malware scans.
